Amanda Smith

Hi, I’m Amanda — a Certified Canine Nutritionist, longtime vet tech, and proud dog mom on a mission to help pups live longer, healthier lives through fresh dog food that promotes gut health for dogs.  


With over 20 years of experience in the veterinary world and a passion for real nutrition, I’ve seen firsthand how switching to whole, species-appropriate foods can completely transform a dog’s health. I started Canine Gut Solutions to cut through the confusion, ditch the kibble guilt, and make feeding fresh dog food simple, doable, and even fun.  


When I’m not geeking out over gut health for dogs or building custom recipes, you can find me hanging out with my Frenchie, Izzie — the pup who inspired it all. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to fine-tune your dog’s diet, I’m here to meet you where you are and guide you every step of the way.

New puppy parents, dog's with special diet needs, dog guardians that want to kick kibble to the curb,  allergies, and diarreha issues.

When we decide if we want to move forward and work together. We work together for 1 month, that will look different for every client. I'lll be helping you make the transition to fresh foods or we'll be working on eliminating allergy foods to decrease the itch and improve the gut!

Due to the time, research, and personalized care that goes into reviewing your dog’s individual needs, consultations are non-refundable once booked. Thank you for understanding and honoring the time and expertise dedicated to supporting your dog’s health.
